jam making

alright in canberra at the moment we are having a strawberry war and strawberrys are about 99 cents a punnet and I had a great idea that I would make strawberry jam for Christmas presents.  You see women on corner stalls with their plum jam and I thought it can’t be that hard….well let me tell you it is.  I burnt my big pot at the bottom, miss jane the 22 month old wanted cuddles halfway through and I had hot spitting jam and a toddler in my arms, by the time the setting point of 102 degress c was reached my whole house stunk of burnt jam and I was well and truly over it.  I was so very disappointed I was hoping for a lovely house making moment and I got major stress.  SO then I regroup and used a different reciepe (bought new strawberries) and I used my smaller pot but I thought that the amount that I was using would be fine……but no now in two days running I have burnt jam smell and no jam.  So now I have strawberry syrup and poached strawberries in my freezer awaiting the time that I can gather up my mother hubbard stuff and have another go…stay tuned.  Meanwhile the man o the house has said very quietly that he rather likes store bought jam and is happy with that…I was not amused to say the least.

hmmm how to go about designing a business:

register name ..check (just need to get the paper work in)

get the stuff for the business ..check (madly designing now and I just need about 12 hours clear to get it done)

website…not needed now but hey may be useful now where can I get that done?? how to do this ?? hmmm tricky.  Oh hang on I have one this is it….good lordy and you know they leave me in charge of two small children!

canberra winter

I just love a canberra winter chill crisp air and sunny days.  Snuggling under the covers where it is warm and toasty….fantastic.  I am not jazzed on the Canberra summer hot hot hot but I am loving autumn, spring and summer.

At the moment I am juggling new semester at uni, my studies for breastfeeding counselling and my family etcc..what loses out..the housework in the end but hey it still looks the same the next day.  I also have very exciting news a friend of mine who is an awesome cook is looking at selling cupcakes etc.. and she has asked me to jump on board with her and sell some cards.  This is such an awesome start to my new fledgling business and I am loving the idea…exciting times ahead.

Apart from that I have a new computer which is terrific but now I have the tricky job of moving info from one to the other??? Difficult yes impossible no I hope not

baby bangs

baby bangs...what is up with that I ask you where on earth is it okay to put fake hair on your baby's head...baby's are meant to be bald for crying out loud!!!!!

not a bear yet

I am making my first teddybear from the very special Susan B Anderson itty bitty nursery, I am a bit happy with the result so far...........

I also made boiled eggs the other night, and I got this beautiful felted egg cap which just tops the meal off beautifully......

Some days just rock so much and are so awesome and other days just tank completely. What is that ???? In order to have a good day so many other things have to come into bear - to tricky sometimes.....today was lovely kids painting, good chats with friends, new babies....lovely lovely stuff. Happy children......hmmmm
